Notice is hereby given that a public open house will be held at the Montrose County Public Works Conference room, 63160 LaSalle Road, Montrose, Colorado on Thursday, March 30, 2023 from 4:00 - 6:00 pm and at the Nucla Road and Bridge Office, 27871 DD Road, Nucla, Colorado on Thursday, April 6, 2023 from 4:00 - 6:00 pm, for public comment and review of proposed changes to the official county road map. Proposed changes include both additions and deletions of roads. The County is required by statute to periodically update the official county road map, C.R.S. 43-2-110.

The County Road Map was last officially adopted in 2021. County roads that have been constructed since 2021 have been added to the map. Roads proposed to be removed from the map include roads that are no longer considered to be a County road because the road 1) has been re-routed or re-built in a different location; 2) is not located on a section line, no longer exists, and/or is no longer needed in the long term County road plan; 3) is entirely on private property and does not provide access to public lands; 4) has become part of a Town, City, or National Park.

The County Road Map may be viewed at the Open House, on the Montrose County website, or by appointment at 63160 LaSalle Road, Montrose, Colorado, during regular business hours, by calling Rebecca Lewis at (970) 252-7000. The road map will be presented for possible adoption at a later date at a noticed, public meeting of the Board of County Commissioners.
