Montrose, COLO.—Montrose County staff will present the 2024 proposed budget during a special meeting of the Board of County Commissioners on Oct. 10 at 9:30am. The presentation of the proposed budget comes after months of reviewing fund models, capital plans, and decision packages for new or expanded programs.
The next step in the annual budget process is additional review by the Board of County Commissioners, county manager, and finance staff. Additionally, the board, manager, and finance staff will host meetings with department heads and elected officials. Changes to the proposed budget will be incorporated and presented as part of the final budget. In December, the Board of County Commissioners will host a public budget hearing to formally consider the budget for adoption and certify the mill levies per state statute.
The public is encouraged to attend the meeting on Oct. 10 at 9:30am at the board room (63160 LaSalle Road). The meeting will also be streamed live and available to view after at montrosecounty.net.
