Sue Hansen

Sue was raised in a military family. The family moved from New Jersey to Germany and then many states across the county. Sue graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches Texas with a BA in Psychology and a minor in Spanish. Soon after graduating Sue made her way to Grand Junction and lived there from 1979-1987. Sue worked at the Partners program, Attention to Youth (residential treatment), Pharmaceutical Sales and St. Mary’s Hospital.  Sue and her husband moved to Philadelphia in 1988 where Sue worked with Cardiologists in the medical imaging business as Director of Operations, setting up free standing imaging centers all over the eastern seaboard.  Gaining substantial experience from that endeavor Sue and a partner started their own mobile imaging business in 1992.   Sue sold her business in 1998 and parlayed her experience with her first business into a speaking, training and consulting company. The primary focus of her business is on leadership development, team dynamics, communication and organizational growth.  Sue relocated permanently to Montrose in 2000. Sue holds certifications as a Professional Behavioral Analyst (CPBA) and Growth Curve Specialist (GCS). 

Sue believes deeply in giving back to her community and over the years has served on numerous boards, committees and initiatives; Black Canyon Boys and Girls Club, founding member of the Montrose Wine Festival Board (proceeds benefiting the Black Canyon Boys and Girls Club, Montrose Area Merchants Association, Court Appointed Special Advocates, Chamber of Commerce and the Giving Club of Montrose. Sue also volunteered as a guest services associate at Telluride Ski Resort. Sue has facilitated the Montrose U Leadership Program since 2007. (formerly known as the Uncompahgre Valley Leadership Program). Many of our prominent citizens have been part of this program.

Sue has been married for 31 years and 2 wonderful step kids ages 43 and 45 and 5 grandchildren. Sue likes to run, ski, bike and camp and feels if you’re lucky enough to live on the Western Slope…well you’re lucky enough.
