Child Welfare Program

Overview

Child Protection intervention is twofold. The first priority is to keep children safe and the second is to offer services when a case is initiated to address concerns that may be causing the immediate concern. This philosophy of early prevention and intervention with children, youth, and families has led to a decrease in foster care placement of children, a decrease in days that children and youth spending out of home placement, and the building of collaborative partnerships with community resources to address the needs of high-risk families.
